   When I first read the field notes of Annie Alexander and Louise Kellogg, I was fascinated by the descriptions they wrote about the places they went and the plants and animals they found there. No. 158, 20 Sep 1998, characters observed: Perennial, herb, sprawling, to 20 cm.; Stem, short stiff hairy; Leaves, whorls of 4, opposite to 3 mm, unequal, elliptic with acuminate tip; Flower minute, rotate; Style, 1, 2 branches; Stamens, 2(?), slightly exserted developing before gyn.; Fruit, black with sticky(?) white hairs.
