Symphyotrichum porteri (A. Gray) G.L. Nesom.  Smooth White Aster.

Dispersed Camp Site, Jefferson County, Colorado. Along Pike-San Isabel National Forest Road 211, about 3.6 miles generally southwest of its northern end at County Road 126 “Deckers Road,” 59 km. south of Golden. 39.22646°N, 105.30549°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 2317 m. Thin ponderosa pine forest with Heterotheca villosa, Hymenothrix dissecta, Solidago missouriensis, Castilleja integra, Eriocoma nelsonii, and Vulpia octoflora.

No. 3383, 12 September 2024, characters observed: Perennial herb, to 30 cm.; Leaves, basal cluster present at flowering, entire, glabrous, margin ciliate, tip spinulose; Receptacle, epaleate; Phyllaries, 2+ series, somewhat ciliate, tip spinulose; Flowers, 2 kinds; Rays, white; Disc flowers, yellow, fading brown; Pappus, well-developed capillary bristles.
