Lippincott Ranch, Jefferson County, Colorado. Southwest corner of the ranch, near the railroad tracks, in deep ponderosa pine forest duff, 22.3 km. north northwest of the GNIS location of Golden. 39.9018°N, 105.2815°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 2084 m. Also seen or collected nearby: Juniperus communis, J. scopulorum, Pinus ponderosa with Arceuthobium vaginatum, Hieracium albiflorum, Berberis repens, and Corallorhiza maculata.

Coll. No. 2494, 4 June 2021, characters observed: Perennial tufted grass, to 35 cm; Sheath, open; Ligule, membraneous; Inflorescence, 45 mm. × 9 mm. wide, panicle, discontinuous on rachis; Spikelets, many, 5.5 mm. × 5 mm. wide; Compression, lateral; Glumes, keeled, <lowest floret, lower, 2.3 mm., veins 1, upper, 3.5 mm., veins 3; Florets, 4 per spikelet, 3 pistillate, 1 sterile; Rachilla, extends 1 mm. beyond sterile floret, Lemma, 3.5 mm. × 2 mm. wide, proximal body pappillate, veins 5 (obscure) proximal mid-vein and marginal veins hairy, chartaceous distally; Palea, 3 mm., keels ciliate.
