Chubbuck

Gudde (1966) states that the station was named Kilbeck for an employee when the railroad line was built in 1910. When the post office was established in 1937, the name was changed to Chubbuck for the owner and developer of the local lime deposits.

Ward Valley

Ward Valley includes the valley containing Danby Lake with an extension to the north. The main part of the valley is bounded by the Iron Mountains on the west and the Turtle Mountains on the east. The southern boundary is approximately at the San Bernardino and Riverside County boundary or California Highway 62. The valley extends northward 20 miles, east of the Old Woman Mountains to US Interstate 40 between the Piute Mountains and the Sacramento Mountains.

Station on the Parker Branch of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway. Probably the location at one time called Ward, which is the namesake of Ward Valley.

About 1½ miles to the southwest are some interesting mounds on the playa of Danby Lake. It's possible that these mounds are remnants of vegetation mounds, but at this time there is little data or analysis of their structure.
