Rosa acicularis Lindl. ssp. sayi (Schwein.) W. H. Lewis.  Say's Acicular Rose.

Lippincott Ranch, Jefferson County, Colorado. Southern "panhandle" part of the ranch, on a ridge in the north-central part, 22.0 km. north northwest of the GNIS location of Golden. 39.9026°N, 105.2688°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 1974 m. Slender prickles on new growth, leaflets 5-7, teeth gland-tipped. Growing in and around Rhus trilobata, few ponderosa pines on rocky ridge. Lippincott Ranch is jointly owned by City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks and Jefferson County Open Space.
