No. 2190, 5 August 2019, characters observed: Perennial, woody shrub, 15 cm.; Stem, tomentose, thinning in age; Leaves, cauline, alternate, 10 mm. × 2.6 mm. wide, tomentose, margin, entire, tip, acute; Inflorescence, head enclosed by an involucre, not overtopped by leaves; Peduncles, 10-12 mm.; Involucre, 8 mm. × 4 mm. wide, cylindric, tomentose, Phyllaries, #4 in 1 series (altho' it really looks to me like they are paired in vertical ranks), ±equal, 8 mm. × 2.7 mm. wide, tomentose, margins, flat, scarious; Receptacle, epaleate; Flowers, 1 kind; Disk flowers, #4, tube 7.5 mm. + lobes 3 mm., throat expanding above tube, yellow, glabrous; Pappus, well-developed bristles, 2 unequal series, 1 mm., 6.5 mm., plumose; Anthers, 3 mm., tailed; Style, 2-branched, tips, 0.2 mm. ±brush-like appendages; Stigma, 1 mm., > style appendages; Fruit (cypsela), 2 mm, hairy.
