No. 894, 24 August 2012, characters observed while keying: Annual herb to 25 cm; Stem, proximal soft-hairy or peeling, distal hairy and glandular, full glands yellow; Leaves, alternate, tips not spiny; Inflorescence, heads not showy, involucre narrowly ellipsoid; Phyllaries, margins folded, enclosing ovaries; Flowers ±4, 2 kinds, rays ±1, disc ±3, mature ray flower pie-shaped in x-section; Pappus 0; Fruit, 5 mm x 1 mm wide, dull black, beakless.
