Eriogonum effusum Nuttall, Proc. Acad. Nat. Sci. Philadelphia. 4: 15. 1848.  Spreading Buckwheat.

Colorado School of Mines Survey Field, Jefferson County, Colorado. Top of slope overlooking an unnamed stream to the northwest, southeast quadrant of the Survey Field, 2.36 km. (geodesic) south of the GNIS location of Golden. 39.73432°N, 105.21896°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 1826 m. Leaves withered. Highest mixed grass prairie near Rocky Mountain Front Range scarp, also nearby: Gutierrezia sarothrae, Senecio spartioides, and Cercocarpus montanus.
