Malus domestica (Suckow) Borkh.  Common Apple.

Clear Creek, Jefferson County, Colorado. Old apple tree along an unnamed trail connecting the 6th Avenue Trail to the Chimney Gulch Trail, 60 m. south of Clear Creek, 1.2 km. west of the GNIS location of Golden. 39.75247°N, 105.23455°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 1759 m. Large old tree, leaves with a reddish cast, flowers large and pink, probably in an old orchard here.

No. 3548, 25 March 2026: Stems, glabrate, appears hairy (*) on one side, and waxy on the other; Bud scales, 4.5 mm., hairy (*) abaxial proximal; * Hairs short, crinkly, and tawny, on one side of young stem and proximal bud scale; Leaves, immature, petiole 15 mm. + blade 30 mm. × 17 mm. wide, finely lanose all over, more so on abaxial veins, serrulate, teeth gland-tipped; Petals, pink, fading towards lavender, 22 mm × 12 mm. wide; Styles, #(3)5;
