Annie Alexander and Louise Kellogg collected Swertia albomarginata on the top of the ridge near Deadmans Spring in 1940.

The GNIS has an approximate location for Deadman Spring that is 6-8 miles north of the actual location.

Current maps show a "Lower Deadman Spring" and an "Upper Deadman Spring" in the same little side canyon south of Deadman Canyon.
