Recreational facility near Almaden de la Plata.

“The visitor center is located in the public forest of Las Navas-Berrocal, a place of great scenic beauty where we can delight our view with plant formations typical of the Sevillian Sierra: holm oak and cork oak forests, riverside vegetation and Mediterranean mount of mastic trees, rockrose and strawberry trees. Along with these we also find pine and eucalyptus forests, the latter currently the target of forest restorations.

“Among the abundant animal species of this place, its population of deer stands out, especially, making it one of the most ideal places to enjoy the rutting season.

“The visitor will be able to know the fossil trunk of the Viar found in 2005 at the Los Destajales farm. It is a unique specimen in Spain due to its characteristics and its degree of fossilization. According to experts, there are only five similar specimens worldwide. Due to its excellent state of conservation, it shows an example of the flora that existed approximately 300 million years ago in this area of ??Sierra Norte de Sevilla.

“We must also mention the passage of the Camino de Santiago on its way from Castilblanco de los Arroyos to Almadén de la Plata.” (http://www.juntadeandalucia.es/medioambiente/servtc5/ventana/mostrarFicha.do;jsessionid=FC6C6098515168F62AC27843F6881F1E?idEquipamiento=19779)
