Location on the former US Highways 91 and 466. Annie Alexander and Louise Kellogg stayed here May 12-16, 1939, and collected in nearby Mormon Canyon.
"… the customary frame building housing a gas station and general store, backed by cabins, looks across the highway at a squat barnlike structure with a corrugated metal roof -- the gathering place of Death Valley Post 2884, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Every two weeks the building is noisy with the meeting of a group that has boasted as many as 150 members, many of whom ride from such distant points as Death Valley and San Bernardino (FWP, 1939)."
