The China Lake complex is about 150 miles northeast of Los Angeles and covers more than a million acres, making it the Navy's largest land activity. The main site to the northwest encompasses a vast array of laboratories, test facilities, and restricted air space for testing of weapons systems. To the southeast lies the Electronic Combat Range (ECR), whose function is to support tri-service testing of EW hardware and tactics.
