Named for the petrified trees when the park was created in 1906 to stop vandalism. Lieutenant Lorenzo Sitgreares reported the existence of the petrified trees in 1851 and Lieutant Amiel W. Whipple called the area Lithodendron Park in 1853.

On US Interstate 40, east of Holbrook, Arizona.
