Eastern Mojave Vegetation Goat Ranch Cutoff, Mono County, California

Tom Schweich

Home Page  Goat Ranch Cutoff goes from California Highway 167 near US Highway 395 to Goat Ranch at the mouth of Cottonwood Canyon. Because it passes by Hector Station, a stage stop on the former stage route between Bodie and Lundy, I think perhaps Goat Ranch Cutoff might follow that stage route.

Crossing Wilson Creek. Goat Ranch Cutoff is 4WD at the crossing of Wilson Creek. Last time I looked at it (June 2011), I decided not to try it because of a very sharp dip, and I wasn't interesting is getting out my shovel.
